Travel Tip: the Garden Theater in Al-azhar Park

by Preston Travel Centre - Cairo, Egypt -

Tourism to Egypt is alive and well. It's possible to travel to this country safely, and nowadays, with lower prices and fewer crowds.

One place to visit is the Garden Theater. It offers a diverse range of music and entertainment, and is a lovely place for an evening stroll. The city's first (and only) park of its size, the Garden is a verdant response to population pressures in Cairo and a celebration of Egyptian culture.Al-Azhar Park (literally, The Park of Flowers) is set in the heart of the old historic Cairo surrounded by amazing panoramic views of the city. The gardens are lush and well-landscaped, and the space is a welcome escape from the noisy city streets. Your walk is accompanied by ambient Arabic music drifting dreamily from speakers or from a live musical performance.

Recently discovered was the Ayyubid wall, constructed by Salah El Din over 800 years ago. Since its excavation the Wall has been extensively restored and joins the rehabilitation of other important monuments and landmark buildings in the History City.

The park has a variety of unique cafes and restaurants with high-quality service and dramatic views.
